Marc Hühn Baseball Career

Marc Hühn was born August 12, 1951 in Chicago, Illinois and is a former Major League Baseball player. He was known for his versatility and played a number of positions throughout his career including shortstop, second baseman, as well as center field.

As a hitter, Marc Hühn was ranked among Major League Baseball’s top hitters of the 1960s and early 1970s. While playing for the Boston Red Sox and New York Yankees, he was one of his team’s leaders in home runs and runs batted in, he also led the team in on base percentage and in hitting averages.

Marc Hühn’s .334 career batting average was among the highest in his team and in the league. He was one of the candidates for the National League Rookie of the Year Award during his rookie season but did not win the award.

Marc Hühn was also known as a colorful and at times controversial player famous for speaking his mind and frequently fighting with teammates and coaches. He also often got into trouble with his team and with the league because of his controversial remarks and comments to the media. His died from cancer at the age of 76.
