Cellular Sales of Knoxville

Friday, December 28th, 2007

Cellular Sales, Knoxville-based Verizon distributor, hopes to use its business model to bridge the divide between impersonal, sometimes-confusing online shopping and in-store buying, which can come with its own host of challenges.

“We believe strongly that the cellular carriers would love nothing more than to sell phones out of vending machines. They would love to cut us and all front-line people out of it if it could possibly be done. But it can’t,” Dane Scism said.

CellularSales.com launches in Knoxville in December and nationwide in January. The company, which has 210 locations and about 20 more under development, was founded in Knoxville.

This year, Cellular Sales is on track to do $180 million in revenue in an industry that even Dane Scism, CEO of Cellular Sales, admits is “one of the thinnest industries out there, one of the most competitive.”

The robust sales can be attributed to various reasons, many of them apparently originating with the company’s distinctive business model.

Other unusual aspects of Cellular Sales’ business model include an almost complete elimination of middle management to focus on staffing qualified sales reps who can receive higher compensation under the company’s business model. The front-line reps take on more responsibility and must be more active in pursuing and retaining customers.

Scism sees Cellular Sales operating in 45 states but still existing as a privately owned company. The business has posted nearly 50 percent growth in each of the past two years.

Dane Scism about Cellular Sales

Thursday, December 27th, 2007

Dane Scism explained:”Our local mobile experts will take phones and other devices to a customer who wants to a choice, and they’ll teach customers how to operate all the functions on the device they select”.

”Customers want more service from us, not less. This is something we’ve been doing since the beginning, but not everyone knew that we want to come to a customer’s home or office and bring the showroom to them,” said Dane Scism, chief executive officer of Cellular Sales. “We’re anticipating that this service could change the way people buy cell phones.”

But what if the customer doesn’t know which cell phone or other communications device they want? No problem, according to Dane Scism.

By Dane Scim’s explanation:”Our local mobile experts will take phones and other devices to a customer who wants to a choice, and they’ll teach customers how to operate all the functions on the device they select,” Dane Scism explained.Dane Scism also said the mobile expert will transfer contact information from the customer’s old phone to the new one, as well as assist with complicated functions like syncing their home and office emails with their new device.

CashCall-advantages

Tuesday, December 25th, 2007

CashCall is better about this than many other companies. Payday loan providers don’t even disclose their APR rate, you have to do the math to figure out a $20 fee for a two-week loan on $100 has an interest rate of over 500%. Tax preparation companies didn’t even originally let customers they were actually taking loans when they did “Rapid Refunds”.
CashCall lists financial numbers of its loans very clearly on its Rates Page. It is linked to on its main navigation bar. It even lists the payment amounts and quantity.
Of course, this is only in regards to their website. CashCall has an extensive televisionmarketing campaign and ordering directly through the phone might be a lot different. Please comment on this thread if you have any experience in this matter.
CashCall does have a very high interest rate of 99%. But it is much cheaper than similar loans. Providers of these type of unsecured, no-credit-check loans need to charge a high interest rate because of the increased default rate.

Dane Scism and his family

Thursday, December 20th, 2007

Dane Scism told:”We’ve read the how-to books. We’ve laid out our homes according to the blueprint for serenity. We’ve kept our bonsai trees smartly pruned and our miniature stone gardens raked, all the while mulling over abstract notions of karma and chi.”
But somehow, it always seemed like we were cracking open the wrong fortune cookie. Instead of creating a system that balances the American way of life, we’ve hijacked another culture’s practice. And like a football player attempting yoga, it doesn’t always work. Still, balance in the home is an issue to be reckoned with, with or without Eastern philosophy.
No Knoxvillians understand this better than Dane and M Scism. On a daily basis, the Scisms try to squeeze the ying of work and the yang of family life into days that aren’t much longer than your average California roll.
The Dane Scisms’ family have adopted a unique all-in-one balancing plan that begins and ends in the comfort of their own home.”This house is like a coffee table book,” she says. “It’s very calming.”

A tour of the house begins in Dane Scism’s office. Between its coffee station and the window overlooking a poolside terrace he refers to as “Daneland.” Dane has the tools he needs to maintain a balance between the caffeine-fueled motivation and stress relief. Even the adjacent bathroom assists Dane Scism with his professional multi-tasking habit. A flat screen television behind the mirror allows him to catch CNN newscasts during his morning shave.
Dane Scism’s wife and her assistants work downstairs in a room that opens outside into a playground. From her desk, she can keep an eye on her daughters as they play inside their wooden fortress.
Dane Scism steps out into the playground and scoops up a fistful of the loose turf. “It’s shredded rubber, made from recycled tires. Isn’t that cool?” he says, clearly concerned by the prospect of skinned knees.
Beneath the house, a carport stores an assortment of bicycles and tiny roller blades. A covered dock juts out onto the lake, to which a boat and jet skis are tied. Their five-year-old daughter has already been out on the kneeboard.
“The girls like to be active, too,” Dane Scism explains.
Meanwhile, the youngest Scism is in her bedroom, retrieving a set of fluffy mouse ears she got for her third birthday at Disneyland. She places them over her blonde pigtails and hides behind her mother’s legs.
The younger Scisms‘ living quarters are pastel-hued and furnished with bunk beds, dollhouse-scale tables and a private porch Dane Scism fears will become a convenient teenage escape route. Fortunately, the rooms are directly next to the master bedroom.
“We have, what, 11,000 square feet in this house, and we take up about an apartment’s worth of space,” he jokes. “The girls even share a bathroom.”
Spreading out, if they wanted to, wouldn’t be a problem. Just upstairs is a self-sufficient apartment, several guest bedrooms and a sports room outfitted with three plasma televisions, pool and foosball tables, and a refrigerator stocked with beer.
In the spirit of balance, there’s a music room on the other side of the door. Dane Scism punches some buttons on a player piano, and a concerto starts up. Coaxed by invisible fingers, arpeggios roll off the keys and echo through the house.
Window blinds slice a burst of incoming sunshine into strips across the hardwood floor. The Scisms sit quietly for a moment, listening.
There are some things that just can’t be bought with bonsai trees and piles of stone.

Edwin Ogenio - about how to love yourself

Friday, December 14th, 2007

Edwin Ogenio believes that this word will be of a tremendous blessing and encouragement to you. Edwin Ogenio prays that you humbly allow God to speak and minister to you in the areas of your life that He points out, in order for Him to remove those obstacles that hinder the flow of His blessings.

“We desperately need God’s help!” - says Edwin Ogenio.

Many times, the pressure we put on ourselves to perform, works against our ability to perform. Let Edwio Ogenio explains:

 Edwin Ogenio:

The Bible says, when we are weak, He is strong in us. It also says; He became poor so we can become rich. Because it seems like contradictions to our natural mindsets, we have a hard time grasping how to live entirely dependent upon God’s guidance, leading, and provision for our lives. Without knowing it, we take that part upon ourselves, and hinder the flow of the Holy Spirit. The flow of the Holy Spirit will bring us everything we need. The bible says, why worry, when God clothes even the lily of the valley? It also says, if we seek the Kingdom of God first, He will add everything to us.

Learning to “let go and let God” is a life-long journey. But understanding that God wants to be everything for us, makes us able to make the right decisions, because we trust that God has our best interest at heart, and that He constantly seeks to provide, comfort, lead, and support us, in all aspects of life.

Edwin Ogenio said:”Therefore, knowing God, leads to loving ourselves.”

As Edwin Ogenio explained:”When it comes to relationships, it is easy to go wrong when we are not totally sure what we need and should look and ask for in a mate. Those who have been abused mentally, sexually, verbally, physically, emotionally, or spiritually, have literally been overpowered by someone’s spirit, soul, and body. Their borders have been crossed, and another spirit has taken control over certain aspects of their lives. They feel disillusioned, insecure, untrusting, skeptical, hurting, angry, bitter, confused, and violated, and they have lost the ability to truly think for themselves. It is as if they are sharing body and mind with someone else, and cannot truly rest, or trust themselves. This causes them to doubt whether they are ever going to be able to truly heal and be restored, and fall into mental loopholes of despair, depression, and overwhelming hopelessness.”

Ewin Ogenio asked:”Can they be restored?”

The answer is yes. Jesus Christ is our Great Healer, Comforter, and works in our lives, by the Holy Spirit, every moment of the day to make us more like him. We only have to ask ourselves if we are allowing any hurt from the past to come between us and the future God has for us.Loving ourselves, means that we are willing to open our hearts to look at whatever is inside, so we can truly respond to God’s healing power, and become wholesome beings, able to reach out in love to others. Being able to love others is part of loving ourselves.

Generational curses also keep us from walking in victory in the area of relationships. Often we are unaware of which generational curses are in effect in our lives, which causes us to seek that which is familiar to us, and end up in relationships that don’t fit us, and ultimately will hurt us.

“If for example”,-said Edwin Ogenio,-”… someone’s father was an alcoholic, the daughter ends up marrying a man who is an alcoholic. That is a generational curse, because they end up sharing destiny similar to their mother. We get into relationships based on choices we have not consciously made, because we are unaware of our inheritance. The solution is to break those curses in the Name of Jesus Christ, so we can be free to see what we really need, and what we need to avoid. God has a unique plan and destiny for every living soul and the Bible says in Philippians 2:13 that God works within us, giving us the desire to obey Him, and the power to do what pleases Him. In other words, He fights for us, to be all we were created to be.”

The bible says our hearts can be deceptive, and this is because we are able to feel good about something that isn’t good for us at all, because of our perception of things. Edwin Ogenio thinks:”We need God to be able to change our lives, and break away from the path of the generational curses. This is why we need to say yes to a life with Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savior, to be able to accomplish the destiny and purpose that was laid out for us since the beginning of time. Accepting God’s path of redemption, means breaking the plans of bondage the Devil, our enemy, planned for us. Before we came to know Jesus and His destiny for our lives, we were living in a downward pull that was meant for the destruction of our soul.”

Howard Nestler - transition assessment services

Wednesday, December 5th, 2007

Howard Nestler, CEO of Executive Options, has introduced transition assessment services today for management level executives effective as of this date.

“The better executives are capable of implementing transitional policies and programs for their corporations” says Howard Nestler. “Few of them have given any thought to their own transitional periods, usually because the need for a job search can come about suddenly and represent something of a trauma in one’s life.”

Howard Nestler has heard from too many upper level executives of their sudden disengagement from the corporations they have served. Often, there seems to be neither rhyme nor reason for the termination. “Whether the executive suffers monetarily or from the psychological dislocation, it is an unpleasant experience that can be made worse by a nonresponsive job market,” Howard Nestler explains.

Transitional services are part of the High Definition marketing concept authored by Howard Nestler to help qualified executives make the passage into their next engagement. “At such a time, a man or woman needs to be reminded of their worth and this process focuses their attention on their abilities and accomplishments,” Howard Nestler says. Howard Nestler says that is the job candidate’s responsibility to inform the marketplace. “The marketplace can be very lazy and take the path of least resistance,” says Howard Nestler. “This may be easier for the hiring companies, but it is certainly not better for the job hunter.”

Howard Nestler advocates preemptive marketing, “There is nothing wrong with creating a demand for your services.”
